Miami Real Estate And Art Go Hand In Hand

December 2nd, 2013

Interior Of One Thousand Museum

What do the business savvy do when competition heats up in the marketplace? They find features to make their products stand out.

Such is the case for Miami real estate developers who are increasingly turning to fine art to make their projects more marketable.

Miami Herald has reported that new Miami condo designs are inclusive of fine art displays in common areas like the lobby area or sales centers, plus art forms include paintings, sculptures and more. This increasing inclusion stems from foreign investors who desire fine art elements in their living spaces, according to the report.

Examples include The Related Group’s multiple condo projects, featuring works of art by the Perez Art Museum of Miami, or Faena District, which will feature an exclusive art center next to its luxury residences. SLS Brickell Residences is another great example, where a giant duck sculpture by Philippe Starck is the center of attention. The aim of developers also, is to build livable museums that will pull investors in.

Design is furthermore a very large part of developers’ planning budgets, as many of these luxury projects feature the signature touch of critically acclaimed designers from around the world. View some of the top Miami Design Firms here.

This week, Art Basel will be the biggest event of the year. It will be Art Basel Miami’s 12th edition.
